CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Maximum bright light and direct sunlight! To develop strong leaves and a healthy bulb, and most importantly, to bloom, the albuca vitally needs plenty of sunlight. In a spot that is too dark, the leaves will quickly become elongated and droop, and the plant will not bloom. A south-, southeast-, or southwest-facing windowsill will be absolutely ideal.

• 💧 Watering: Infrequent and very careful. Since this is a bulb plant (water and nutrients are stored in the bulb underground), it tolerates drying out much better than overwatering! Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. It absolutely cannot tolerate its roots and bulb soaking in stagnant water in the saucer, which will quickly cause rot and the plant’s death. When watering, try not to pour water directly over the bulb.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: It feels excellent at standard room temperature and absolutely loves ordinary, dry indoor air! This plant must not be misted to avoid fungal diseases. In winter, it is recommended to keep it in a slightly cooler room (but not below 10°C), protected from cold drafts.

• 🐾 Pets: Not pet-friendly. The plant (especially its bulb) is toxic to cats and dogs. If chewed, it may cause digestive problems and vomiting. Keep it out of your pets’ reach!

🏠 BEST LOCATION:

• The brightest and sunniest south-facing windowsill in your home (an absolute prerequisite for this plant to bloom).

• A bright desk right next to a window (thanks to its mini size, it will fit perfectly and delight you with a vanilla fragrance in spring).

Another extremely important natural secret about albucas: since this is a bulb plant, it may enter summer dormancy. If you notice the plant’s leaves beginning to turn yellow and dry out after flowering – do not panic, it has not died! The plant is simply going to rest. During this time, stop watering completely and place the pot in a shadier, dry location. When you notice new shoots emerging from the bulb in autumn or late winter, resume moderate watering and move it back into the sun. When repotting, be sure to use very loose, sandy soil (for example, soil intended for cacti and succulents), leaving the top of the bulb slightly above the soil!
