This extremely adorable, rare, and unusual Alocasia 'Balloon Heart' fully lives up to its romantic name! CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but diffused light. For the little alocasia to grow strong and develop increasingly larger "hearts," it needs a large amount of light. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching sunlight, which will instantly burn its thin and fragile leaves. An east-facing windowsill is an absolutely excellent choice.

• 💧 Watering: Regular but extremely careful! Here lies the main secret of seedlings: young plants are VERY sensitive to both drying out and overwatering. Keep the soil evenly lightly moist, but allow the top layer to dry out slightly. It absolutely cannot tolerate roots sitting in standing water in the saucer, which will literally cause root and fragile stem rot within a few days.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Loves warmth and literally adores very high air humidity! In dry indoor air, the small plant will quickly suffer, and its leaf tips will turn brown. A humidifier, plant terrarium, or placing it on a wet pebble tray is almost a must for this little one’s survival and beauty. Strictly protect it from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes!

• 🐾 Pets: Strictly not pet-friendly. Like all alocasias, this one is toxic to cats and dogs. Its sap contains calcium oxalate crystals, which cause severe oral irritation, drooling, and digestive issues if chewed. Keep it completely out of reach of your pets!

🏠 MOST SUITABLE LOCATION:

• Bright plant terrarium or large glass terrarium (an absolutely ideal and protected environment for such a small (6 cm) baby where it can enjoy constant "tropical greenhouse" humidity).

• Bright spot near a humidifier.

⚠️ Note and reality check about seedlings: Plants are living organisms, so each baby and its number of leaves may vary. It is extremely important to remember that you are receiving a "baby" (in a 6 cm pot)! Small seedlings must be handled much more gently than mature plants. It is important to know nature’s secrets: alocasias very often sacrifice their old leaves for the new ones! It is completely normal that as a new, beautiful leaf grows, the bottom leaf slowly turns yellow and withers – don’t rush to panic. When the plant grows and the 6 cm pot becomes too small, when repotting be sure to use an extremely airy and loose aroid soil mix (generously mixed with perlite, fine orchid bark, and sphagnum moss) so its sensitive roots can breathe freely!
