CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but MANDATORILY diffused light. For this alocasia to maintain its dramatic shape, color contrast, and strong stems, it needs a large amount of light (it will especially enjoy morning or late evening sun). However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly burn and irreversibly damage its unusually twisted leaves. An east or west-facing windowsill is a perfect choice.

• 💧 Watering: Regular but very thoughtful. Alocasias love consistent moisture but do not tolerate overwatering. Allow the top layer of soil (the top third of the pot) to dry out completely between waterings! The plant absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will quickly cause sensitive tuber and root rot. Reduce watering significantly in winter.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: As a true tropical resident, it loves warmth (+18°C to +25°C) and will be extremely happy with increased air humidity (above 55-60%). In dry indoor air, the unique leaf tips may start to brown and dry out, so it will appreciate a spot near a humidifier or on a tray with pebbles and water. In winter, strictly protect it from cold drafts and icy windowsills!

• 🐾 Pets: Keep away from pets. Like all alocasias, 'Loco' contains calcium oxalate crystals, which are toxic to cats and dogs if chewed. Place the plant out of their reach.

• A bright and warm windowsill or shelf in morning/evening sun (ideal environment and convenient placement due to its compact young plant size).

⚠️ Note and reality check about alocasias: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and its leaf’s unique twisting direction or number of folds may vary. It is extremely important to keep in mind that you are receiving a small young plant (in a 7 cm pot)! Small seedlings must be handled more gently than mature plants. Important to know nature’s secrets: alocasias grow naturally in cycles and to grow a new, larger leaf, they often sacrifice and drop their oldest, smallest leaf (which naturally turns yellow and withers) – there is no need to worry about this; it is a normal process. Do not repot this small seedling immediately into a large pot. When you repot it in the future, MANDATORILY use an extremely airy, loose aroid soil mix (generously mixed with perlite, orchid bark, and coconut chips) so the roots can breathe freely and excess water drains instantly through the pot.
