CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but indirect light. To maintain its beautiful leaf coloring and vibrant pink stalks, it needs quite a lot of light. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching sunlight, which will quickly burn its glossy leaves. An east- or west-facing windowsill is an excellent choice.

• 💧 Watering: Moderate and very careful. Alocasias like consistently lightly moist soil, but they hate overwatering! Allow the top layer of soil (about 3–5 cm deep) to dry slightly between waterings. Its thick roots (tubers) strictly cannot tolerate sitting in stagnant water in the saucer, which will quickly cause root rot and the plant’s death.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: It loves warmth and requires increased humidity. 'Pink Dragon', like other alocasias, will be very grateful for the presence of a humidifier in the room. If the air is dry, the leaf tips may begin to turn brown and dry out. Strictly protect it from cold drafts, air conditioners, and open windows in winter (the temperature must not fall below 16°C).

• 🐾 Pets: Not pet-friendly. The plant is toxic to cats and dogs. It contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals that cause severe mouth irritation, drooling, swelling, and vomiting when chewed. Keep it out of your pets’ reach!

🏠 BEST ROOM:

• Plant display case or glass cabinet (an absolutely ideal place where this exotic beauty can be provided with stable humidity and controlled warmth).

• Bright bathroom with a window (if it naturally has increased humidity and is not cold).

• Bright shelf in the living room (as an exclusive and eye-catching accent, ideally placed near a humidifier).

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen may differ slightly from the one described. Important to know: alocasias naturally and completely normally shed their oldest lower leaf when producing a new one, redirecting the energy stored in it. Also remember that alocasias may enter a dormant period in autumn and winter—if the plant sheds some leaves and stops growing, do not worry or overwater it! Allow the tuber to rest in slightly drier soil until spring, when it will produce new shoots again. Alocasias are also prone to spider mites, so regularly inspect the undersides of the leaves and keep them clean by wiping them with a damp cloth!
