CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but indirect light. For the alocasia to grow strong, long, patterned stems that do not topple, it vitally needs plenty of light. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sunlight, which will quickly burn its large leaves. An east- or west-facing windowsill is an excellent choice.

• 💧 Watering: Regular but extremely careful. Alocasias like consistently lightly moist soil, but they are VERY sensitive to overwatering! Allow the top layer of soil (approximately 3–5 cm deep) to dry slightly between waterings. They absolutely cannot tolerate roots sitting in stagnant water in the saucer, which will quickly cause root and stem rot.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: It loves warmth and literally adores very high humidity! In dry indoor air (especially during the winter heating season), it can become highly susceptible to spider mites, and the tips of its leaves may begin to turn brown. A humidifier placed near the plant is almost essential for maintaining its beauty. Strictly protect it from cold drafts, air conditioners, and sudden temperature fluctuations!

• 🐾 Pets: Absolutely not pet-friendly. The plant is toxic to cats and dogs. It contains calcium oxalate crystals, which, when chewed, cause severe irritation of the mouth and throat, drooling, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing. Keep it safely out of your pets' reach!

• Bright bathroom with a window (an absolutely ideal location, as the plant will adore the natural humidity there).

• Bright living room right next to a humidifier (as a striking, modern, vertical design accent).

⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about the plant's size: Plants are living organisms, and it is extremely important to bear in mind that the large alocasia shown in the first image is merely an example of what this plant can become over the years! You will receive a young plant (35 cm tall). It is important to know the secrets of nature when it comes to alocasias: they often sacrifice old leaves for the sake of new ones! It is completely normal for the oldest (bottom) leaf to slowly turn yellow, droop, and wither as a new, beautiful leaf grows—simply cut it carefully at the base. Alocasias may also enter a dormant period during the damper winter months, shedding some of their leaves, but they will awaken in spring. When repotting, it is strictly forbidden to use dense, ordinary houseplant soil! You must use an extremely airy and loose aroid soil mix (generously blended with orchid bark, sphagnum moss, and perlite) so that its sensitive roots can breathe freely.
