CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but diffused light. For the alocasia to grow its long, patterned stems strong and upright, it needs a vital amount of light. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly burn its large leaves. An east or west-facing windowsill is an excellent choice.

• 💧 Watering: Regular but extremely careful. Alocasia likes evenly slightly moist soil, but it is VERY sensitive to overwatering! Allow the top layer of soil (about 3-5 cm deep) to dry slightly between waterings. It strictly cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will quickly cause root and stem rot.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Loves warmth and literally adores very high air humidity! In dry indoor air (especially during the winter heating season), it can become very susceptible to spider mites, and the leaf tips will start to brown. A humidifier placed close to this plant is almost a mandatory condition for its beauty. Strictly protect it from cold drafts, air conditioners, and sudden temperature fluctuations!

• 🐾 Pets: Strictly not pet-friendly. The plant is toxic to cats and dogs. It contains calcium oxalate crystals, which cause severe irritation of the mouth and throat, drooling, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing if chewed. Keep it safely out of reach of pets!

• Bright bathroom with a window (an absolutely ideal place because the plant will love the natural humidity there).

• Bright living room near a humidifier (as you can see, a modern and vertical design accent).

⚠️ Note and reality check about the plant size: Plants are living organisms, and it is extremely important to consider – the large alocasia shown in the first picture is just an example of what this plant can become over the years! You will receive a young plant (35 cm tall). It is important to know the natural secrets about alocasias: they often sacrifice old leaves for the new ones! It is completely normal that as a new, beautiful leaf grows, the oldest (bottom) leaf slowly turns yellow, droops, and withers – just carefully cut it off at the base. Also, alocasias may enter a dormant period during colder winter months, dropping some leaves, but they will awaken in spring. When repotting, it is strictly forbidden to use dense, regular houseplant soil! Always use an extremely airy and loose aroid soil mix (generously mixed with orchid bark, sphagnum moss, and perlite) so its sensitive roots can breathe freely.
