Royal Lace Aloe (Aristaloe aristata)

Get ready to bring absolute botanical resilience into your home or onto your desk, the exotic beauty of the African mountains, and one of the most rewarding succulents in the world of houseplants – the stunning Lace Aloe (Aristaloe aristata, formerly classified by botanists as Aloe aristata)! This masterpiece of South African nature is a true find for lovers of delicate textures and geometric shapes. The plant's greatest pride, its magnet and unmistakable calling card, is its breathtaking foliage: dark green, fleshy leaves arranged in a dense, spherical rosette are generously speckled with tiny, white bumps and soft spines, while the tip of each leaf is adorned with a delicate, white, hair-like "lace" or bristle. This contrasting, pearlescent texture makes it a natural work of art that is pleasing to the touch and the eye. It is now a perfectly formed, sturdy and notably compact 10-15 cm tall plant in a generous 12 cm pot. It is the most prestigious, tasteful and reliable gift for a housewarming, busy office workers, beginner plant enthusiasts and anyone looking for a visually striking yet completely self-sufficient natural wonder!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • ☀️ Light: Bright, but indirect light. Although this succulent loves light, it is best kept out of direct, scorching midday sunlight. In excessively strong, hot sun, the leaves may shrivel and change color from lush green to reddish brown. An east- or west-facing windowsill is absolutely ideal.

  • 💧 Watering: Extremely infrequent, minimal, and very careful! This plant is a classic succulent, storing all the moisture it needs in its fleshy leaves. Water the plant thoroughly, but ONLY when the soil in the pot is completely, 100% dry all the way down to the bottom of the pot! Most importantly: NEVER pour water directly into the center of the rosette (onto the leaves), because standing water in the leaf axils will quickly cause the plant to rot from the inside. It is best to water it from below.

  • 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: It thrives in comfortable, typical room temperatures (+18°C to +25°C). This mountain plant tolerates dry indoor air without any problems, the heat of the heating season, and requires absolutely no misting.

  • 🐾 Keep away from pets and children: Like most plants in the aloe family, this one is also considered mildly toxic to pets. Chewing its leaves can cause digestive upset in dogs and cats.

🏠 BEST ROOM:

  • Bright desks, bookshelves, computer desks, and narrow windowsills, where this structured, textured plant will catch the eye without taking up much space.

  • Modern, minimalist, Scandinavian, or boho-style interiors, where clean, natural geometric lines create perfect visual order.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Height: 10-15 cm

  • Pot diameter: 12 cm

⚠️ A note and a dose of reality about lace aloes: Plants are living organisms, and when growing this succulent, you need to know one important fact – unlike ordinary aloes, which tend to grow long, lace aloe grows in a notably dense clump and over time starts producing countless little "babies" around itself, turning into a gorgeous, large family cluster! The biggest risk to this plant is overwatering. If the leaves become soft, translucent, and start rotting at the base – you're drowning the plant. On the other hand, if the firm leaves start curling inward, become noticeably thinner, and their "lace" tips start drying out, the plant is simply thirsty. When you repot it in the future, BE SURE to use a special, sandy, highly porous cactus/succulent potting mix (mixed generously with gravel, pumice, or perlite).

🌡️ COLD TIME! If the outside temperature is below +5°C, be sure to add a heat pack to the order so that plants and predatory mites do not freeze on the way.

❄️ In cold weather, we recommend choosing Smartpost parcel lockers, as they provide indoor delivery, reducing the impact of low temperatures on the shipment.

⚠️ Important about the heating element! ‼️ 1 heating element per 1 order – it is not necessary to put one for each plant. ‼️ Provides heat for up to 72 hours. Without a heating element – we do not take responsibility for frozen plants and predatory mites.

📦 Pick it up promptly! When the package has been delivered, collect it the same day. Do not leave the package in the parcel locker overnight! Cold and heat can damage the plants and predatory mites.
