This charming and extremely resilient Blooming Cactus is a wonderful example of how the harsh desert environment can create something truly delicate and beautiful! It combines the classic cactus shape and tough spines with surprisingly magnificent and bright flowers, creating a breathtaking visual contrast. The term "bloeiend" indicates that this desert dweller is in its flowering phase. It is a famously low-maintenance, slow-growing, and very long-lived houseplant that will add a sunny, exotic, and minimalist natural accent to any interior. It is an absolutely perfect gift for busy people, sunny windowsill owners, and anyone who often forgets to water their plants!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Maximum bright light and direct sunlight. Cacti are true sun lovers – to grow healthily, maintain a beautiful shape, and be able to bloom, they vitally need a lot of sun. A south or southwest-facing windowsill is an absolutely ideal choice. In a dark place, they will stretch out and lose their appeal.

• 💧 Watering: Very rare and careful. Allow the soil to dry out completely between watering sessions (throughout the entire pot depth). Cacti store water in their fleshy stems, so they tolerate prolonged drought very well, but absolutely cannot tolerate overwatering. They must never sit in standing water, which will quickly cause root rot. During the winter dormancy period, watering should be almost completely stopped.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Feels great at standard room temperature and literally loves normal, dry indoor air. It must absolutely not be misted! In summer, it will enjoy being outside in the sun and wind. However, the most important rule for flowering: in winter it vitally needs a cool dormancy period (around 8–12°C) in complete dryness. This winter coolness and dryness stimulate flower bud formation for spring!

• 🐾 Pets: Absolutely not pet-friendly! Although most cacti are not chemically toxic, their sharp spines pose a serious physical hazard. Keep it strictly out of reach of curious cats, dogs, and small children to avoid painful injuries!

🏠 MOST SUITABLE LOCATION:

• Sunny windowsill in the living room or kitchen (where it will get direct sun and be protected from moisture).

• Bright desk near a window (as an unobtrusive and patient work companion).

• Cool and bright veranda in winter (an absolutely ideal place for the necessary dormancy period).

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and flower color may differ from what is expected. It is important to remember – if you plan to repot the plant (which is recommended only in spring, using special sandy cactus soil), be sure to use thick garden gloves or folded newspaper to hold the plant and protect your hands from the spines! After flowering, dried flowers can be carefully removed with tweezers.
