Royal Fragrant Fiery Cambria 'Nelly Isler' (Cambria 'Nelly Isler')
Get ready to bring unparalleled tropical passion, royal luxury, and one of the most fragrant scents in the houseplant world into your home or office – the stunning Cambria 'Nelly Isler'! This legendary hybrid variety, highly prized among orchid collectors, is a true jewel of the orchid world, captivating with its unparalleled and vibrant appearance. The plant's greatest pride, magnet, and unique signature is its breathtaking flowering: from the thick stems at the base and lush green leaves, flexible flower stalks rise, bearing cascades of exotic star- and butterfly-shaped flowers in fiery red, coral, and burgundy shades, adorned with a shimmering white and yellow-speckled lip. During flowering, 'Nelly Isler' fills the room with a captivating, sweetly citrusy fragrance reminiscent of a bouquet of fresh lemongrass and roses. The "Tuft" series boasts especially dense, lush foliage and strong pseudobulbs (thickened stem sections), ensuring abundant and regular flowering. It is now a grand, mature, strong, exceptionally dense, lush, and stable 50 cm specimen in a generous, highly stable 17 cm pot. This is the most prestigious, tasteful, and impeccable gift for housewarmings, anniversaries, weddings, and anyone seeking the highest level of orchid elegance and fragrance in their home!
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: Bright, abundant, but MANDATORILY indirect light. This is the main secret behind this plant's vivid flowers and fragrance: Cambria 'Nelly Isler' needs plenty of filtered light so its fiery pink flowers retain their color and new flower spikes can develop (it will particularly enjoy gentle morning sun). However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sunlight, which can quickly burn its delicate leaves and turn them yellow. An east- or west-facing windowsill is ideal.
-
💧 Watering: Regular, moderate, and careful (soaking method). Unlike desert succulents, cambrias prefer consistent, light moisture, but they cannot tolerate their roots sitting in stagnant water. Soak the pot in lukewarm water for 10–15 minutes once every 7–10 days, as soon as the surface of the substrate has dried. After soaking, allow all excess water to drain completely. The plant strictly cannot tolerate its roots or the bases of its pseudobulbs sitting in stagnant water in a saucer or decorative pot, as this can quickly cause rot.
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: It thrives in moderate room temperatures (+18°C to +22°C). 'Nelly Isler' is descended from mountain orchids, so it does not like excessive heat (above +25°C). The plant greatly appreciates moderate to high air humidity, so it will be grateful for placement near a humidifier. Important tip: to encourage flowering, it benefits from a slight difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures (a difference of 3–5°C). In winter, protect it from the dry heat of radiators and cold drafts!
-
🐾 Pets: Pet-friendly. Cambrias are completely non-toxic and absolutely safe to keep in your home with curious cats and dogs.
🏠 BEST LOCATION:

Bright living rooms, dining rooms, desks, and coffee tables, where this fragrant, fiery orchid silhouette can be admired up close and serve as the main luxury accent.

-
Pot diameter: 17 cm (a generous, large, and highly stable volume that supports strong root-system and pseudobulb development)
⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about cambrias: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen may vary slightly in its exact number of flowers, the curvature of its stems, and the ratio of open buds, creating a unique natural form. An important orchid secret: cambrias flower from new pseudobulbs – when an orchid finishes flowering after a long blooming period, cut off the dry flower spike. The old pseudobulb will not flower again, but a new shoot (new pseudobulb) will grow from its base and produce a new, magnificent, fragrant flower spike the following season! Since this is already an exceptionally mature and strong specimen in a generous 17 cm pot, it will not need repotting for at least 1–2 years. When you eventually repot it, MANDATORILY use a special orchid substrate made from fine- to medium-grade pine bark and moss, not regular houseplant soil!
