Royal Silver String of Hearts 'Silver Glory' (Ceropegia woodii 'Silver Glory')

Get ready to bring indescribable lightness, a silvery glow, and the most romantic cascade in the world of houseplants into your home or office – the stunning Silver String of Hearts 'Silver Glory' (Ceropegia woodii 'Silver Glory')! This exclusive variety, highly prized among interior designers and rare succulent collectors alike, is a true masterpiece of living nature, affectionately known as the "String of Hearts" (String of Hearts). The plant's greatest pride, magnet, and unique signature are its breathtaking leaves: on thin, reddish, flexible vines grow fleshy, pronounced kidney-shaped and apple/heart-shaped leaves whose surface is almost completely covered in a shimmering, silvery-pearl tone with a delicate dark-green edge. Compared with the standard Ceropegia woodii, the leaves of 'Silver Glory' are wider, more expressive, and much more silvery. The vines form an exceptionally lush, airy cascade that can beautifully spill over the edges of the pot. It is currently a nicely established, strong, notably dense, and highly promising 10-15 cm trailing plant in an ideally sized 9 cm pot. It is the most prestigious, tasteful, and heartfelt gift for a housewarming, hanging pots, shelves, and anyone seeking the highest level of refined natural elegance in their home!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • ☀️ Light: Bright, abundant, but ESSENTIALY filtered light. This is the main secret behind the plant's silvery glow and dense foliage: Ceropegia 'Silver Glory' needs plenty of filtered light to maintain its famous pearly coloration and prevent the vines from becoming stretched with large gaps between the leaves (it will especially enjoy gentle morning sun). Strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sunlight, which can quickly burn its delicate leaves. It will do best on an east- or west-facing windowsill and in a spot directly near a window.

  • 💧 Watering: Extremely moderate and careful – this plant is actually a succulent! Since its thick leaves and tuberous roots store moisture, the plant cannot tolerate constantly wet conditions. Water the plant only when the soil in the pot has completely dried out all the way to the bottom between waterings. Since the plant is in a 9 cm pot, it will dry out moderately quickly, but it absolutely cannot tolerate the roots and the bases of the vines sitting in stagnant water in the saucer, which can quickly cause rot. In winter, water very rarely (once every 2–3 weeks). If in doubt – do not water!

  • 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Feels perfectly comfortable in warm conditions (+18°C to +26°C). This succulent vine tolerates dry indoor air, the heat of the heating season, completely without problems and does not require misting or additional humidity. Protect it from temperatures below +10°C and icy drafts in winter.

  • 🐾 Pets: Pet-friendly / Non-toxic. Ceropegias are non-toxic and safe to keep in your home with curious cats and dogs, although because of their delicate, trailing vines, it is still best to place them on higher shelves or in a hanging pot.

🏠 IDEAL LOCATION:

  • Bright shelves, bookcases, hanging pots, and windowsills, where these silvery String of Hearts vines can hang freely, creating a romantic and airy green curtain.

  • Modern, Scandinavian, or romantic-style interiors, where delicate natural textures and silver accents create a cozy, warm, and harmonious atmosphere.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Height (vine length): 10-15 cm (a compact, strong, notably dense, lush plant with an already visually formed cascade)

  • Pot diameter: 9 cm (a stable, ideal size that supports the development of strong roots, tubers, and vines)

⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about ceropegias: Plants are living organisms, so every specimen and its exact vine density, length, and intensity of silvery coloration are completely unique masterpieces of nature – no two plants in the world are identical. Botanical secret: Ceropegias form small, round tubers (nodes) on their vines and in the soil – this is a completely natural nutrient reserve that can be used to propagate the plant when necessary. Since this is already a nicely established plant in a 9 cm pot, it is hardy and will not need repotting for some time (ceropegias prefer compact pots). When you eventually repot it, be SURE to use a light, mineral-based, well-draining cactus/succulent or houseplant soil mix with a generous addition of perlite and sand.
