This extremely romantic, delicate, and photogenic Variegated Ceropegia, most commonly known worldwide as "String of Hearts," is one of the most desirable trailing houseplants! The 'Variegata' variety is a special rarity and pride, as its small, heart-shaped leaves are decorated not only with silvery green patterns but also with wonderful cream-white and soft pink edges. Although the plant looks incredibly fragile, it is actually very resilient, related to succulents, and a patient houseplant that will add an airy, romantic, and aesthetically delicate natural accent to any interior. It is an ideal, completely safe, and extremely charming gift for both experienced plant collectors and anyone who tends to forget regular watering!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright, diffused light with some direct morning or evening sun rays! This is the key secret to the beauty of this plant: to maintain its beautiful pink and white variegation and for the leaves to grow close together, it needs a large amount of light. In too dark a place, the pink color will fade, the leaves will turn completely green, and the stems will stretch out unattractively.

• 💧 Watering: Rare and very careful. As a member of the succulent family, Ceropegia stores water reserves in its thick leaves and tuberous roots. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings! The best indicator: if the leaves are firm, the plant does not need watering; if they become soft and bend easily – it’s time to water. It absolutely cannot tolerate root rot caused by standing water, which will quickly cause tuber rot. Watering should be reduced to a minimum in winter.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives at standard room temperature and literally loves normal, dry indoor air. This plant does not need misting! In summer, it can be kept outside in a place protected from direct midday sun, but in winter protect it from cold drafts.

• 🐾 Pets: Pet-friendly. This beautiful string of hearts is completely non-toxic and absolutely safe in your home with curious cats and dogs. However, note that the moving, long strings may seem like a great toy to cats!

• High shelf or hanging pot (an absolutely ideal spot that allows the long heart strings to elegantly and freely hang down).

• Bright and sunny windowsill (perfect condition for bright pink coloring).

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and the intensity of its pink variegation may vary (the more sun, the brighter the plant!). It is important to know nature’s secrets: Ceropegia forms small tubers (caudexes) in the soil that store water, and sometimes such tubers can also form on the stems between the leaves – this is normal! The plant grows extremely fast. If the strings become too long and "bare," don’t hesitate to trim them. The cuttings can simply be placed in water or on moist sphagnum moss, where they will root very quickly, allowing you to get new plants or make the existing pot bushier. When repotting, be sure to use very loose soil (soil intended for cacti and succulents with good drainage).
