CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: A distinctly generous, bright, and maximally light environment! Here lies the main secret to this plant’s abundant flowering and strong leaves: unlike more delicate orchids, Cymbidium is an absolute lover of light. To encourage strong flower spikes, place it in the brightest spot in the room (it will greatly appreciate gentle sunlight). In an overly dark location, the leaves will remain yellow-green and the plant will not bloom. An east- or west-facing windowsill, or a spot right next to a window, will be the perfect choice!

• 💧 Watering: Regular, generous, and very careful. During active growth, cymbidiums like consistently moist conditions, but they cannot tolerate having their roots submerged in standing water. Water/soak the plant thoroughly as soon as the surface layer of the substrate has dried. Since the specimen is in a 14 cm pot and is massive, it consumes a lot of water in summer, but the plant categorically cannot tolerate its roots and the bases of its pseudobulbs remaining in standing water in the saucer for a long time, as this can cause rot. Reduce watering substantially in winter.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: It feels excellent in moderate warmth and even cool conditions (+15°C to +22°C). The main secret to flowering: cymbidiums vitally need a temperature difference between day and night (in autumn, it enjoys cooler conditions of around +10°C to +14°C), which stimulates the development of magnificent flower spikes. In summer, it will be extremely grateful for time spent outdoors – in the garden or on the terrace. In winter, protect it from the dry, hot air of heating radiators!

Since this is a large, exceptionally mature, and strong specimen in a generous 14 cm pot, it will not require immediate repotting (cymbidiums prefer to grow densely into their pots). When you repot it in the future, you MUST use a special orchid substrate made from coarse/medium-grade pine bark and peat to provide the roots with oxygen and ideal drainage.
