Royal Coin Dischidia (Dischidia nummularia)

Get ready to bring impeccable natural minimalism, tropical lightness, and the most elegant geometry of houseplants into your home – the stunning Coin Dischidia! This exotic treasure is the closest relative of the legendary hoyas (wax flowers) and is highly valued among collectors. It has earned its poetic name nummularia (from Latin – coin) thanks to its completely unique foliage: its winding, thread-like stems are densely and symmetrically covered with very small, thick, fleshy, and perfectly round leaves that look impeccably arranged like green coins or precious jade beads. The leaf surface has an elegant, matte bluish-green or soft lime tone with a fine waxy protective layer. As it grows, the stems form a magnificent, dense, and airy "green waterfall" cascade that gracefully flows over the edges of the pot. This plant is renowned for its excellent resilience and ability to perfectly adapt to a busy lifestyle. It is currently beautifully matured, strong, lush, and distinctly stable 25 cm plant in a generous 13 cm hanging pot. It is an air-purifying hanging plant that will add an elite-class, modern, and visually clean design accent to any interior. It is the most refined and practical gift for busy people, aesthetes, and those seeking the highest nature fashion that requires almost no effort!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • ☀️ Light: Bright but MANDATORILY diffused light. Here lies the main secret of this plant’s dense silhouette: for the dischidia to maintain its expressive, generous "coin" coverage and for the stems not to stretch long and bare, it needs a large amount of light (it will especially enjoy the gentle morning or late evening sun rays). However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays that will instantly and irreversibly burn its unique leaves. An east or west-facing windowsill is a perfect choice.

  • 💧 Watering: Rare, moderate, and very thoughtful – this is a plant that thrives best when occasionally "forgotten." Since its round leaves are distinctly thick and succulent, the plant stores water reserves in them flawlessly for weeks. Water only when the soil in the pot is completely, 100% dry down to the bottom! Since the plant is in a stable 13 cm pot, it retains moisture longer, so the plant absolutely cannot tolerate root rot caused by standing water in a saucer or decorative pot, which can quickly cause sensitive root decay. If in doubt – feel free to wait a few more days.

  • 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A warmth-loving tropical resident (ideally +18°C to +25°C). Unlike other finicky tropical plants, the coin dischidia, thanks to its waxy structure, adapts excellently and completely effortlessly to normal, dry indoor air and requires no special air humidification, making it an exceptionally easy plant to grow even during the winter heating season. The only rule: protect it from cold drafts!

  • 🐾 Pets: Friendly. This exotic and magnificent hanging plant is completely non-toxic and absolutely safe in your home with curious cats and dogs.

🏠 MOST SUITABLE SPACE:

  • Bright and warm shelves, tops of cabinets, or a spot in hanging pots by the window, where these magnificent coin strings can freely and elegantly cascade down in all their splendor.

  • Modern living rooms, bedrooms, or home offices, where this elite-class graphic plant will serve as a refined interior design accent, bringing a sense of natural calm and order to the space.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Height: 25 cm (beautifully matured, lush, strong, and generously developed hanging plant)

  • Pot diameter: 13 cm (stable and excellent volume that ensures a strong root system)

⚠️ Note and dose of reality: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and its exact stem length or leaf arrangement may vary slightly, creating a unique natural form. Since this is already a neatly matured and lush plant in a generous 13 cm pot, it is extremely stable and does not require immediate repotting. Because it grows as an epiphyte in the wild, its root system is small, and it prefers a narrow, compact environment. When you repot it in the future (after a year or two), be sure to use an extremely airy, porous, and loose epiphyte/orchid soil mix (generously mixed with perlite, coconut chips, and pine bark) so the roots receive maximum oxygen and excess water drains instantly through the pot.

📦 Pick it up promptly! When the package has been delivered, collect it the same day. Do not leave the package in the parcel locker overnight! Cold and heat can damage the plants and predatory mites.
