Royal Variegated Euphorbia 'Mayuranthanii Variegata' (Euphorbia mayuranthanii 'Variegata')
Get ready to bring unusual desert exoticism, sculptural strength, and the most elegant play of color in the world of houseplants into your home, office, or rare succulent collection—the stunning Variegated Euphorbia 'Mayuranthanii' (Euphorbia mayuranthanii 'Variegata')! This rare, exclusive natural gem, highly valued among collectors, is a true masterpiece of living nature, standing out with its sturdy, cactus-like architecture. The plant's greatest pride, magnet, and unique signature is its breathtaking shoot coloration: upright, ribbed stems emerge from the base, their surfaces adorned with magnificent, shimmering marbling in cream, ivory, and yellow tones interwoven with rich green longitudinal stripes. This unique combination of contrasts gives each shoot a magical three-dimensional presence. In addition to its regal, elite appearance, this euphorbia is exceptionally resilient and protects its beauty with virtually minimal care. It is currently a nicely established, strong, notably sturdy, and highly promising 15-20 cm plant in an excellent-volume 12 cm pot. It is the most prestigious, tasteful, and exclusive gift for housewarmings, sunny desks, modern offices, and anyone seeking the highest level of natural geometry in their home!
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: Bright, abundant, but ABSOLUTELY indirect light (with moderate morning or afternoon sun). This is the main secret behind the plant's light marble coloration: the euphorbia needs a large amount of filtered light to retain the famous cream pigmentation on its stems. However, because the light-colored parts of the stems contain less chlorophyll, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun, which can burn its sensitive tissues instantly. An east- or west-facing windowsill will suit it best.
-
💧 Watering: Extremely infrequent, minimal, and very cautious—this plant thrives when it is "forgotten" as far as watering is concerned. Since its fleshy stems act as powerful water reservoirs, the plant cannot tolerate living in constant moisture. Water the plant only when the soil in the pot is completely, 100% dry all the way to the bottom between waterings! Since the plant is in a 12 cm pot, it will dry out moderately, so it absolutely cannot tolerate its roots or the base of its stem soaking in standing water in the saucer, which can cause rot very quickly. In winter, water very rarely (once every 1–1.5 months). If in doubt—do not water!
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Feels excellent and comfortable in warmth (+18°C to +28°C). This succulent tolerates dry indoor air, the heat of the heating season, and requires no misting or additional humidity without any problems (additional humidity is actually harmful!). Important rule: euphorbias love warmth—strictly protect them from temperatures below +12°C and icy drafts in winter!
-
🐾 Keep away from pets: Like all euphorbias, this variety releases a white, caustic milky sap (latex) from injured areas, which can irritate the skin, eyes, and digestive tract of cats and dogs. Place this magnificent sculptural plant somewhere inaccessible to four-legged friends and children.
🏠 IDEAL ROOM:
-
Bright living rooms, home offices, design studios, and windowsills, where this marbled, architectural silhouette will receive the most filtered light and serve as an unusual design accent.
-
Modern, industrial (loft), Scandinavian, or minimalist interiors, where clean lines and exclusive natural textures create perfect visual balance.
SPECIFICATIONS:
-
Height: 15-20 cm (a compact, strong, notably sturdy, fleshy, and already visually well-formed plant)
-
Pot diameter: 12 cm (a stable, generous volume that supports strong root-system development and plant stability)
⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about euphorbias: Plants are living organisms, so every specimen and its precise distribution of cream and green marbling on the stems, as well as the shape of its shoots, is a completely unique masterpiece of nature—no two plants in the world are alike. Since this is a strong plant in a stable 12 cm pot, it is exceptionally resilient and will not need repotting for a long time. When you repot it in the future, you MUST use a special mineral-rich, sandy, and highly porous cactus/succulent soil mix (generously containing gravel, pumice, and perlite) to ensure that excess water drains through the pot immediately.
