CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Moderate to bright, but MUST be indirect light. This is the main secret behind this plant's deep, dark color: the 'Abidjan' ficus needs pleasant, filtered light to maintain its famous, almost black color and the brightness of its burgundy veins (it will particularly enjoy gentle morning or late-evening sun). However, thanks to its dark foliage, this variety adapts flawlessly and reliably to partial shade indoors, making it an exceptionally versatile interior element. Absolutely protect it from direct, scorching midday sun, which can burn its beautiful leaves. An east- or west-facing position will be ideal.

• 💧 Watering: Moderate, regular, and careful. Ficuses like consistent moisture, but they absolutely do not tolerate their roots soaking in standing water. Water the plant thoroughly, but only when the top layer of soil (the upper one-third of the pot) has completely dried out between waterings! Since the plant is in a stable 12 cm pot, it will retain moisture well, so absolutely do not allow water to collect in the saucer or decorative pot, as this can quickly cause root rot and leaf drop. Reduce watering slightly in winter. Water with lukewarm, soft water.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A heat-loving tropical resident (ideally +18°C to +25°C). This ficus adapts well to ordinary indoor air, but it will be very grateful if its leaves are regularly wiped with a damp, soft cloth (this not only gives them an excellent shine but also helps the plant breathe freely). In winter, carefully protect it from cold, icy drafts when airing the room and from dry streams of radiator air!
