Royal Variegated Fiddle-Leaf Fig (Ficus lyrata 'Variegata')
Get ready to bring the most coveted jewel of the houseplant world into your home or collection—aristocratic luxury and unparalleled design architecture in the form of the stunning Variegated Fiddle-Leaf Fig (Ficus lyrata 'Variegata')! While the classic fiddle-leaf fig has been an interior designers’ icon for years, its variegated version is the ultimate exclusivity and a collector’s dream. The plant’s greatest pride, magnet, and unmistakable signature is its breathtaking, sculptural foliage: from the sturdy trunk rise large, firm, expressive “fiddle-” or lyre-shaped leaves adorned with a shimmering variegated pattern—an emerald-green center meets generous cream-white, lime, and buttery-yellow margins. This contrasting pattern and the leaves’ embossed texture create a stunning 3D effect, turning each leaf into an individual work of art. In addition to its elite appearance, this fig actively purifies the air and enriches the environment with oxygen. It is currently a beautifully established, strong, exceptionally dense, and stable 15-20 cm plant in an ideally sized 12 cm pot. This is the most prestigious, tasteful, and guaranteed-to-be-exclusive gift for housewarmings, design aesthetes, rare-plant hunters, and anyone seeking the highest level of luxury in their interior!
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: Bright, abundant, but ABSOLUTELY indirect light. This is the key secret behind the plant’s cream-colored variegation and large leaves: Ficus lyrata 'Variegata' needs plenty of filtered light to maintain its vivid variegation and produce large, strong new leaves (it will especially enjoy gentle morning sun). If the light is insufficient, the variegation may fade and growth may slow. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun, which can quickly burn its sensitive white leaf sections. A spot near an east- or west-facing window is the perfect choice!
-
💧 Watering: Regular, moderate, and carefully considered. Fiddle-leaf figs like consistent moisture, but they are extremely sensitive to overwatering. Water the plant thoroughly, but only when the surface layer of soil (the upper one-third of the pot) has dried out between waterings. The soil in the pot should be pleasantly moist, like a wrung-out sponge. Since the plant is in a stable 12 cm pot, it will retain moisture well, so it absolutely cannot tolerate its roots sitting in stagnant water in the saucer—this can quickly cause brown spots on the white leaf margins and root rot. Reduce watering in winter. Water only with lukewarm, soft water.
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A heat-loving tropical inhabitant (ideally +18°C to +25°C). This fig appreciates moderate to high humidity and will be grateful for a spot near a humidifier or for regular leaf wiping with a damp, soft cloth (to remove dust and maintain shine). Important rule: fiddle-leaf figs dislike being moved and cannot tolerate cold—strictly protect it from icy drafts and dry air currents from radiators!
-
🐾 Pets: Keep away from pets. Like all figs, this rare variety releases white latex sap at damaged areas, which can cause digestive tract or skin irritation in cats and dogs if the leaves are chewed. Place this exclusive treasure somewhere inaccessible to your four-legged friends.
🏠 IDEAL ROOM:

Bright living rooms, home offices, and salon reception areas, where this variegated, waxy “fiddle” silhouette can stand on a shelf, table, or plant stand, serving as the main luxury accent.
-
Modern, Scandinavian, or avant-garde interiors, where clean lines and exclusive natural textures create flawless visual balance.

⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about variegated figs: Plants are living organisms, so every specimen and the precise distribution of cream-colored and green areas on each leaf is a completely unique work of nature—no two plants in the world are identical. Since this is already a nicely established plant in a stable 12 cm pot, it is strong and will not require immediate repotting for some time. When you repot it in the future, be SURE to use a fertile yet light, peat-based, well-draining soil mix with a generous addition of perlite and bark to provide the roots with oxygen and prevent water from accumulating.
