Royal Crystal Haworthia (Haworthia cooperi)

Get ready to bring absolute botanical magic into your home or onto your desk, a gem created by nature and one of the most unusual succulents in the houseplant world – the stunning Haworthia (Haworthia cooperi)! This South African desert masterpiece looks as though it were created by a skilled glassblower. The plant’s greatest pride, its magnet and unmistakable trademark, is its breathtaking foliage: the thick, juicy, rounded leaves (resembling tiny, light-green grapes) grow in a dense rosette, and their very tips are completely transparent! These “glass windows” (fenestrations) are a brilliant invention of nature – in the wild, they let sunlight penetrate deep into the plant, even when the plant is almost completely buried in sand to escape the heat. It is currently a perfectly formed, strong and notably compact 5–10 cm tall plant (beginning to form a lush cluster, or pups) in a generous 12 cm pot. It is the most prestigious, tasteful and futuristic gift for a housewarming, design enthusiasts and anyone looking for a visually striking, science-fiction-worthy and extraordinarily patient wonder of nature!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • ☀️ Light: Bright, but MUST be indirect. Here lies the secret of this plant's translucent "windows": unlike cacti, the Haworthia categorically cannot tolerate direct, scorching midday sun. In excessively strong, hot sunlight, it will literally "bake" – its leaves will lose their clear green color, turn brownish-red, and dry out. An east- or west-facing windowsill is absolutely ideal.

  • 💧 Watering: Extremely infrequent, minimal, and very careful! This plant is a true succulent, storing all the water it needs in its fleshy glass-like "grapes" and thick roots. Water the plant thoroughly, but ONLY when the soil in the pot is completely, 100% dry all the way down to the bottom! Most importantly: NEVER pour water directly into the center of the rosette, because standing water in the leaf axils will quickly cause the plant to rot from the inside. Bottom watering is best.

  • 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: They thrive in comfortable, ordinary room temperatures (+18°C to +25°C). This desert plant handles dry indoor air with no problems at all, the heat of the heating season, and requires absolutely no misting.

  • 🐾 Pets: Pet-friendly / Non-toxic. Haworthias are completely non-toxic and absolutely safe to keep in your home with curious cats and dogs.

🏠 BEST ROOM:

  • Bright desks, bedside tables, and narrow windowsills, where this botanical gem will catch the eye and serve as a small stress-relieving object, inviting a closer look.

  • Modern, minimalist, Japanese (zen), or "high-tech" interiors, where unusual natural forms serve as refined works of art in the space.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Height: 5–10 cm

  • Pot diameter: 12 cm

⚠️ A note and a dose of reality about haworthias: Plants are living organisms, and, although this haworthia looks like it came from another planet, its language is very easy to read. Haworthias have extremely thick, fleshy roots. If the plant’s beautiful, round leaves start losing their firmness, become soft and sunken (they look deflated) – the plant is simply thirsty. Give it a thorough watering, and the leaves will fill out again like little water balloons! But, if the leaves become "jelly-like", turn translucent yellow, and collapse one after another, the plant has been seriously overwatered and is starting to rot. Haworthia grows slowly, which is its biggest advantage for staying compact. When you repot it in the future, BE SURE to use a special, highly mineralized, coarse cactus/succulent potting mix, generously mixed with gravel, pumice, or perlite.

🌡️ COLD TIME! If the outside temperature is below +5°C, be sure to add a heat pack to the order so that plants and predatory mites do not freeze on the way.

❄️ In cold weather, we recommend choosing Smartpost parcel lockers, as they provide indoor delivery, reducing the impact of low temperatures on the shipment.

⚠️ Important about the heating element! ‼️ 1 heating element per 1 order – it is not necessary to put one for each plant. ‼️ Provides heat for up to 72 hours. Without a heating element – we do not take responsibility for frozen plants and predatory mites.

📦 Pick it up promptly! When the package has been delivered, collect it the same day. Do not leave the package in the parcel locker overnight! Cold and heat can damage the plants and predatory mites.
