Royal double giant amaryllis (hippeastrum) 'Amadeus Candy' XL (Hippeastrum 'Amadeus Candy' 38/40)
Get ready to bring absolute botanical theater into your home, springtime romance, and one of the most spectacular wonders of the houseplant world – the stunning Hippeastrum 'Amadeus Candy'! This masterpiece of nature is a real find for lovers of gigantic, regal, and delicate flowers. The greatest pride, attraction, and unique signature feature of this particular and exclusive variety is its breathtaking flowers: huge, double blooms (with several rows of petals) flourish on a strong flower stalk, their base color dazzling white, while the petal edges and center are artistically colored and speckled with soft pink (cotton candy or strawberry candy) shades. At the height of flowering, it looks like a luxurious, three-dimensional cloud of fairytale flowers or a giant peony! But the main and most striking advantage of this particular offer is its size – 38/40 cm (XL/Jumbo category)! Such a massive, heavy, and vigorous giant bulb is a rare find, guaranteeing at least 3 (sometimes even 4) stout flower stalks, creating such a massive and luxurious explosion of blooms that will take everyone's breath away. It is the most prestigious, stylish, and interactive gift for romantics, gardening enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to experience a spectacular show of nature.
CARE AND PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: You can keep a newly planted bulb in moderate light at first. However, as soon as the first green shoot (flower stalk or leaf) appears, ALWAYS move it to the brightest and sunniest (south-, east- or west-facing) windowsill! Abundant light is especially critical for this giant bulb so that the flower stalks grow straight, strong and able to support the weight of the extremely heavy double flowers.
-
💧 Watering: At first - hardly at all! As soon as you plant the bulb, water the soil just once and forget about watering until a clearly visible green shoot, about 5 cm long, appears! If you water the bulb before sprouting begins, it will simply rot. When the plant is actively growing, water it regularly, keeping the soil slightly moist, but drain excess water from the saucer. Pour water around the edge of the pot, ALWAYS avoiding pouring it directly onto the bulb!
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: To wake the bulb and encourage sprouting, pleasant room warmth is needed (+21°C to +24°C). However, once the enormous flowers open, you can significantly extend their blooming time by placing the plant in a slightly cooler spot (+18°C). It absolutely does not require misting.
-
🐾 Keep away from pets and children: Amaryllis bulbs, leaves and flowers are highly toxic. They contain lycorine and other alkaloids, which, if chewed, cause severe vomiting, tremors and serious digestive upset in dogs and cats.
🏠 MOST SUITABLE ROOM:
-
Bright windowsills in living rooms, dining table centerpieces (during bloom), and bedrooms, where this cloud of white and pink flowers will serve as an absolute festive centerpiece and focal point of the room.
-
Romantic, classic, "cottagecore" or light Scandinavian interiors, where soft pastel shades and grand natural forms bring an exceptionally strong sense of warmth and spring.

⚠️ A note and a dose of reality about XL hippeastrums: Plants are living organisms, and, when growing a bulb of this caliber, you must strictly follow two golden rules! First: the bulb MUST NOT be completely buried in the soil! After planting, approximately 1/3 (up to half) of the bulb's top must be left above soil level. Second: since this bulb will produce massive and extremely heavy double flowers, you MUST plant it in a heavy, stable ceramic or clay pot! In a lightweight plastic pot, when the flowers open during bloom, the plant is guaranteed to topple over under its own weight. Once the spectacular flowering show is over, don't throw the bulb away - cut off the spent stalks, continue watering generously throughout spring and summer, fertilize it and grow the plant's green leaves, through which the bulb will store energy, so it can bloom again next year.
🌡️ COLD TIME! If the outside temperature is below +5°C, be sure to add a heat pack to the order so that plants and predatory mites do not freeze on the way.
❄️ In cold weather, we recommend choosing Smartpost parcel lockers, as they provide indoor delivery, reducing the impact of low temperatures on the shipment.
⚠️ Important about the heating element! ‼️ 1 heating element per 1 order – it is not necessary to put one for each plant. ‼️ Provides heat for up to 72 hours. Without a heating element – we do not take responsibility for frozen plants and predatory mites.
📦 Pick it up promptly! When the package has been delivered, collect it the same day. Do not leave the package in the parcel locker overnight! Cold and heat can damage the plants and predatory mites.
