Royal Aristocratic Hippeastrum 'Picotee' (Hippeastrum 'Picotee')
Get ready to bring absolute botanical sophistication, aristocratic elegance, and the finest flowering show in the world of houseplants into your home - the stunning Hippeastrum 'Picotee'! This exclusive masterpiece of nature is a true find for admirers of classic, pure, and graphic beauty. The plant's greatest pride, magnet, and unique hallmark are its breathtaking flowers: large, dazzling snow-white flowers bloom on a strong, upright flower stalk, each petal adorned with an extraordinarily delicate, precise, and striking red edge, while the flower's center (throat) is illuminated by a soft lime green. This graphic and delicate contrast creates an incredibly luxurious, airy, and visually flawless aesthetic reminiscent of a hand-drawn botanical artwork. The plant is currently available as a strong, large, and fully prepared bulb for forcing (without a pot or soil). It is the most prestigious, tasteful, and interactive gift for housewarming celebrations, minimalism and classic-style enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to experience this fascinating magic of nature with their own eyes - from planting a "bare" bulb to a grand flowering triumph!
CARE AND PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: While the bulb is being planted and has not yet produced a shoot, the amount of light is not very important. However, as soon as the flower stalk appears and begins to grow rapidly, place it in the brightest possible location (in bright, indirect light). If there is not enough light, the flower stalk will become leggy and fragile and may break under the weight of the large flowers.
-
💧 Watering: The golden rule of planting and watering! Plant the bulb so that at least 1/3 (or even half) of the bulb itself remains above the soil surface. At first, while the bulb has not developed roots and a green shoot, water it hardly at all or keep the soil only minimally moist. As soon as the flower stalk has grown (about 5-10 cm), start watering regularly, but never allow the bulb to stand in stagnant water!
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: To wake the bulb and encourage its growth, it initially needs room temperature warmth (+20°C to +24°C). However, when the snow-white flowers with their red edges have fully opened, move the plant to a slightly cooler place - in cooler conditions, the flowers will stay fresh and delight you for considerably longer! Additional air humidification is not necessary.
-
🐾 Keep away from pets and children: Hippeastrum bulbs, as well as their leaves and flowers, are highly toxic (they contain lycorine and other alkaloids). Ingestion causes severe vomiting and digestive tract problems in dogs and cats. Store the bulb, and later the flowering plant, somewhere inaccessible to them!

⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about hippeastrums: Bulbs are living energy reserves! An important dose of reality: from planting the bulb to the opening of the first flowers, it usually takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks. Be patient! The biggest mistake people make is overwatering the "bare" bulb immediately after planting, which causes it to rot before it has had a chance to wake up. For planting, you MUST use a light, very well-draining houseplant substrate and a pot with holes in the bottom. Once flowering is over, do not cut off the long, green leaves - they will continue to nourish the bulb so it can store energy and flower again the following year!
📦 Pick it up promptly! When the package has been delivered, collect it the same day. Do not leave the package in the parcel locker overnight! Cold and heat can damage the plants and predatory mites.
