CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright, abundant, but MANDATORILY diffused light. This is the main secret to this plant’s abundant flowering: the 'Australis' Hoya requires a large amount of light to produce its famous porcelain flower clusters (it especially enjoys gentle morning or late evening sun). However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly burn or fade its magnificent leaves to a dull yellow. The best spot is near an east or west-facing window.

• 💧 Watering: Extremely moderate, infrequent, and very thoughtful. Since this Hoya has thick, waxy leaves that excellently store moisture reserves, it cannot tolerate living in constant swampy conditions. Water the plant generously, but only when the soil in the pot is completely, 100% dry down to the bottom between waterings! Because the plant is in a stable 12 cm pot, it retains moisture a bit longer, so the plant absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which quickly causes root rot. If in doubt – feel free to wait a few more days. Reduce watering significantly in winter.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A warmth-loving tropical resident (ideally +18°C to +25°C). Thanks to its thick leaves, this Hoya adapts perfectly and without any problems to normal, dry indoor air and does not require mandatory air humidification, making it an exceptionally rewarding plant even during the winter heating season. The only rule: protect it from sudden temperature fluctuations and cold drafts in winter (especially when new flower buds are forming).

• 🐾 Pets: Friendly. This exotic and shining Hoya is completely non-toxic and absolutely safe in your home with curious cats and dogs.

Important secret: when the 'Australis' Hoya starts forming flower buds, do not touch, roughly handle, or move the pot under any circumstances, as any stress or change in light angle can cause the plant to boldly drop new buds. Also, after flowering, do not cut off the small flower stalks – the Hoya often blooms again in the same spots the following year! Since this is already an exceptionally mature plant in a stable 12 cm pot, it will not require immediate repotting for a very long time. When you do repot it in the future, be sure to use an extremely airy, porous, and well-draining epiphytic/succulent soil mix (peat generously mixed with perlite and pine bark) so the roots can always breathe freely.
