CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but diffused light. Here lies the main secret of this plant’s beauty: to maintain the perfect dark line contrast on the leaves, it needs a large amount of light. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly bleach (turn yellow) and irreversibly burn its beautiful leaves. An east or west-facing windowsill is an absolutely great choice.

• 💧 Watering: Rare and very careful. As an epiphyte, its hard and firm leaves work perfectly as water reservoirs. Allow the top layer and the middle layer of the soil to dry out thoroughly between waterings! It absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will quickly cause root rot. The best indicator: if the leaves are very firm (like cardboard), the plant does not need watering; if they start to soften a bit – it’s time to drink.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives at standard room temperature and adapts well to normal indoor air. However, since this Hoya comes from tropical regions (Borneo), it will be extremely happy with increased air humidity. In winter, strictly protect it from cold drafts!

• 🐾 Pets: Friendly. This gorgeous, patterned wax flower is completely non-toxic and absolutely safe in your home with curious cats and dogs.

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and the intensity of its leaf venation may vary slightly. Important to know nature’s secrets: Hoya callistophylla naturally grows as a vine. It often produces long, "bare" shoots (strings) without leaves. Never cut these off! This is a normal growth rhythm for Hoya – when the long string finds support or enough light, new beautiful leaves will slowly start to develop and grow on it. Provide it with a small support (a trellis or bamboo hoop) to climb on. And remember the most important flowering rule: when the wax flower blooms in the future, NEVER cut off the dry "stem" (inflorescence stalk)! Hoyas form new flower buds next year from the same old flower stalks. When repotting, it is strictly forbidden to use dense and heavy houseplant soil! You MUST use an extremely airy aroid or epiphyte soil mix (generously mixed with orchid bark, coconut chips, and perlite) so its roots can breathe freely just like in the tropical forest.
