Royal Narrow-Leaf Wax Flower (Hoya longifolia)
Get ready to bring subtle botanical elegance, an unusual silhouette, and the most famous flowering magic in the world of houseplants into your home or office - the stunning Narrow-Leaf Wax Flower (Hoya longifolia)! This exclusive Asian epiphyte, highly prized among houseplant collectors, differs radically from classic hoyas with round leaves. The plant's greatest pride, magnet, and unique calling card is its breathtaking foliage and trailing silhouette: distinctly elongated, narrow, fleshy, and firm emerald-green leaves resembling delicate, flat pods grow along long, flexible stems. When the plant reaches full maturity, it is crowned with the world-famous wax flower blooms - dense, star-shaped clusters of snow-white flowers that release an exceptionally pleasant, sweet fragrance (especially in the evenings). It is currently a nicely grown, strong, healthy, and highly promising 10 cm young plant/baby in a compact 6 pot. It is the most prestigious, tasteful, and heartfelt gift for a housewarming, plant shelves, and anyone who wants to witness with their own eyes the growth of this elegant epiphyte from a baby plant into a remarkable design accent!
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: Bright but MANDATORILY indirect light. This is the main secret behind this plant's generous flowering and dense growth: the hoya needs plenty of filtered light (it will especially enjoy gentle morning or late-afternoon sun). Protect it categorically from direct, scorching midday sunlight, which can instantly burn its delicate leaves and turn them yellow. In a spot that is too dark, the plant will become leggy and never bloom. An east- or west-facing windowsill will be perfect.
-
💧 Watering: Moderate, infrequent, and extremely careful - this plant has succulent characteristics! Since the wax flower's fleshy leaves store water, the plant absolutely cannot tolerate waterlogged roots. Water the plant thoroughly, but ONLY when the soil in the pot is almost completely dry. Since this baby is in a small size 6 pot, it will dry out somewhat faster than larger plants, but it categorically cannot tolerate its roots sitting in stagnant water in the saucer. If in doubt - do not water!
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A heat-loving tropical resident (ideally +18°C to +25°C). This plant adapts well to ordinary indoor air. In winter, strictly protect it from the dry, hot air of heating radiators, temperatures falling below +15°C, and icy drafts!
-
🐾 Pets: Pet-friendly / Non-toxic. Hoyas are completely non-toxic and absolutely safe to keep in your home with curious cats and dogs.

⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about wax flowers: Plants are living organisms, so every specimen and the precise length of its leaves are completely unique works of nature. An important botanical secret that few people know: hoyas often first send out a long, bare vine without leaves. People think the vine has died or is unnecessary, and they cut it off. NEVER cut off the long, "bare" vines! The plant uses this vine to find something to cling to (or sense airflow), and only later will it begin growing leaves and flower clusters along it. Also, when the plant blooms in the future, never cut off the flower stalks - the hoya blooms year after year from the same flower stalk! When you eventually repot it into a larger pot, you MUST use a special, very light, airy, and exceptionally well-draining epiphyte/orchid potting mix (with a generous blend of orchid bark, sphagnum moss, and perlite) so the roots can breathe freely.
📦 Pick it up promptly! When the package has been delivered, collect it the same day. Do not leave the package in the parcel locker overnight! Cold and heat can damage the plants and predatory mites.
