CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but diffused light. Here is an important golden rule: to develop and maintain its famous dark edge ('Black Edge'), the plant vitally needs a large amount of light! In too dark a place, the leaves will remain simply green. However, protect it from very harsh midday sun rays, which can burn the foliage.

• 💧 Watering: Rare and very careful. Hoya leaves are thick (they store water much like succulents), so they tolerate drying out much better than overwatering! Allow the soil to almost completely dry out between watering sessions. It absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will quickly cause root rot and plant death.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives well at standard room temperature and adapts well to normal indoor air. This tropical plant will not complain about slightly increased humidity but should not be excessively misted. Strictly protect from cold drafts!

• 🐾 Pets: Friendly. This exotic and fragrant vine is non-toxic and completely safe in your home with curious cats and dogs.

🏠 MOST SUITABLE LOCATION:

• A very bright hanging pot or tall shelf (allowing its expressive tendrils to elegantly and freely hang down).

• A bright windowsill in the living room (where you can enjoy its wonderful, sweet aroma during flowering).

Keep in mind that during the dark winter months, the black edges may become lighter – this is natural! Please note: the first image shows an example of this variety’s flower to give you an idea of its stunning flowering potential! Important to know the secrets of nature about hoyas: they tend to suddenly produce long, "bare" tendrils without leaves. Do not cut these under any circumstances! On these tendrils, new leaves will eventually grow, and flower clusters may form. Also remember – when the hoya has finished flowering, do not cut the old flower stalk, because next year’s new flowers will form from the same stalk! When repotting, be sure to use very light and loose soil (soil richly mixed with orchid bark and perlite works great).
