This extremely rare, exotic, and botanically fascinating Hoya or Wax Flower 'Rindu Rafflesia' is a true find for tropical plant collectors! It comes from the jungles of Sumatra (Indonesia) and got its unique name in honor of the nature reserve region where the world's largest flower – rafflesia – grows wild. Unlike classic wax flowers with oval or round leaves, this species stands out with very long, narrow, and elegantly pointed leaves. Properly cared for, it will reward you in the future with shiny, elegantly white star-shaped flowers! Like a true wax flower, it is a patient, air-purifying, and long-living vine that will eventually form a beautiful cascade or happily climb up a provided support. Currently, it is still a small seedling, but it is exceptionally space-saving and completely safe as an indoor plant, adding a gentle, vertical, and very delicate natural accent to any interior. It is an ideal, joy-enhancing gift for anyone who appreciates unusual leaf shapes and wants to forget about regular plant watering!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but diffused light. For this hoya to maintain beautiful, dense foliage and be able to bloom in the future, it vitally needs a large amount of light. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly bleach and burn its narrow leaves. An east or west-facing windowsill is an absolutely great choice.

• 💧 Watering: Rare and thoughtful. As an epiphyte, its roots like the topsoil layer and the middle layer between watering sessions to dry out thoroughly. However, since its leaves are a bit thinner and narrower than those of thick-leaved ficuses or classic hoyas, do not let it dry out completely "to the bone." It absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will quickly cause root rot.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives well at standard room temperature. Being a true tropical forest dweller, this hoya (unlike succulents) will be extremely happy with increased air humidity, which promotes much faster leaf growth. In winter, strictly protect it from cold drafts!

• 🐾 Pets: Friendly. This gorgeous wax flower is completely non-toxic and absolutely safe in your home with curious cats and dogs.

🏠 MOST SUITABLE LOCATION:

• A bright and warm windowsill with morning or evening sun.

• A high shelf or a place with a small support (ladder) where the vine can freely stretch and twist its tendrils.

⚠️ Note and reality check about wax flowers: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and its leaf length may vary slightly. It is extremely important to keep in mind that you are receiving a young plant! It is important to know nature’s secrets: hoyas naturally grow as vines and regularly produce long, "bare" shoots (tendrils) that initially have no leaves. Never cut these off! This is a completely normal growth process – when the long tendril finds support or senses enough light, new leaves will gradually start to develop on it. And remember the most important flowering rule: when the wax flower blooms in the future, never cut off the dry flower stalk! Hoyas form new flower buds the next year from the same old flower stalks. When repotting this plant, it is strictly forbidden to use dense and heavy indoor plant soil! You MUST use an extremely airy aroid or epiphyte soil mix (generously mixed with orchid bark, coconut chips, and perlite) so its roots can breathe freely.
