Get ready to bring unparalleled metallic shimmer, velvety softness, and the most extraordinary palette of hues in the world of houseplants into your home, office, or succulent collection—the stunning Copper Kalanchoe (Kalanchoe orgyalis / Copper Spoons)! This exclusive natural gem from Madagascar, highly prized among interior designers, is a true masterpiece of living nature, popularly known as “Copper Spoons.” The plant’s greatest pride, attraction, and unmistakable signature is its breathtaking foliage: thick, curved, spoon-shaped leaves arranged from the base and covered with a dense, silky, velvety fuzz. The upper surface of the leaves is dressed in a rich metallic copper, cinnamon, and bronze palette, while the undersides reveal a smoky silver and gray-green contrast. As the plant matures, its velvety copper glow becomes especially intense in sunlight, making it look like a treasure cast from bronze. In addition to its legendary beauty, the Copper Kalanchoe is exceptionally hardy and requires no complicated care. It is currently a beautifully mature, strong, particularly dense, and stable 20 cm specimen in an ideally sized 10.5 cm pot. This is the most prestigious, tasteful, and guaranteed-exclusive gift for housewarming celebrations, modern minimalism enthusiasts, succulent hunters, and anyone seeking untamed natural art for their home!
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: An exceptionally generous, bright, and sunny environment! Here lies the main secret behind this plant’s intense copper color and velvety texture: Kalanchoe orgyalis is an absolute child of the sun. To develop its famous shimmering bronze and cinnamon coloring, place it in the brightest spot in the room (it will love and needs direct sunlight). In a spot that is too dark, the leaves will lose their coppery glow and become simply gray-green. A south- or west-facing windowsill is the perfect choice!
-
💧 Watering: Extremely infrequent, minimal, and very careful—this plant thrives best when you “forget” about watering it. Since its thick, succulent leaves act as powerful water reservoirs, the plant cannot tolerate living in constant moisture. Water the plant only when the soil in the pot has dried out completely, 100%, all the way to the very bottom between waterings! Since the specimen is in a 10.5 cm pot, it will dry out moderately, so the plant absolutely cannot tolerate its roots or the base of the rosette soaking in standing water in the saucer, which can quickly cause rot. During the winter months, reduce watering almost completely (once every 3–4 weeks). Tip: water around the edge of the pot so the water does not get onto the velvety leaves.
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: It feels excellent and comfortable in warm conditions (+18°C to +26°C). This succulent tolerates dry indoor air, the heat of the heating season, and requires no misting or additional humidity without any problems (moisture can even damage the velvety fuzz!). Protect it from temperatures below +10°C and icy drafts in winter.
-
🐾 Keep away from pets: Like most Kalanchoe varieties, this plant contains cardiac glycosides, which can cause digestive problems in cats and dogs if the leaves are chewed. Place this magnificent copper treasure somewhere inaccessible to your four-legged friends.
🏠 IDEAL LOCATION:
-
Sunny south- or west-facing windowsills, shelves, desks, and spots directly beside windows, where this coppery, velvety silhouette will receive the most solar energy and serve as the main interior accent.
-
Modern, loft, Scandinavian, or minimalist interiors, where warm metallic tones and unique natural textures create an atmosphere of absolute luxury.
SPECIFICATIONS:
-

⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about Copper Kalanchoes: Plants are living organisms, so every specimen and its precise arrangement of leaf “spoons,” velvety density, and ratio of copper and silver tones are completely unique masterpieces of nature—no two plants in the world are identical. Tip: try not to rub the leaf surface with your fingers so as not to damage its natural, delicate layer of fuzz. Since this is already a nicely mature specimen in a portable 10.5 cm pot, it is exceptionally hardy and will not need repotting for some time. When you repot it in the future, be SURE to use a special, mineralized, sandy, and highly porous cactus/succulent soil mix (generously containing gravel, pumice, and perlite) to ensure excess water drains through the pot immediately.
