Like other marantas, it boasts a magical ability to move – in the evenings, as darkness approaches, it raises its leaves upright and folds them together (just like hands in prayer), then in the morning it unfolds them again towards the light! CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Medium bright, diffused light or partial shade. In nature, this plant grows in the understory of tropical forests, so strictly protect it from direct, scorching sunlight, which will quickly burn its thin leaves and fade the silver coloring. An east or north-facing windowsill is an excellent choice.

• 💧 Watering: Regular and attentive. Maranta likes evenly slightly moist soil – it strictly does not tolerate complete drying out, as its leaves will quickly curl and the tips will turn brown and crispy. Water when the top layer of soil is slightly dry, but remember that the plant also does not tolerate root rot from standing water in the saucer! It is best to use soft, settled, or filtered water at room temperature.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives at standard room temperature, but the biggest secret to this plant’s well-being is air humidity! To prevent leaf tips from drying and to keep them smooth, it requires increased air humidity (a humidifier, placing on a pebble tray with water, or living near other plants is a great choice). In winter, strictly protect it from cold drafts and dry radiator air.

• 🐾 Pets: Pet-friendly. This colorful, moving plant is non-toxic and completely safe in your home with curious cats and dogs.

🏠 MOST SUITABLE ROOM:

• Bright bathroom with a window (an absolutely ideal place, as the plant will literally adore the natural humidity there).

• Bedroom (where you can watch its magical leaf folding "prayer" in the evenings and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere).

• Low shelf or small hanging pot (allowing its shoots to spread freely and droop slightly).

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and the width of the silver stripe may vary slightly. It is important to know nature’s secrets: if you notice that the plant lowers its leaves in the morning but raises them upright again in the evening – don’t worry, this is a completely natural process (nyctinasty), not thirst or disease! If the shoots become too long and unsightly, you can confidently prune them, which will stimulate the plant to bush out from the base (cuttings can be easily rooted in water). When repotting, be sure to use airy, humus-rich, and moisture-retentive houseplant soil (with added perlite) and don’t forget good drainage at the bottom of the pot.
