CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but STRICTLY indirect light or moderate partial shade. This is the main secret behind the plant's silvery pattern and colour contrast: marantas naturally like to grow in the shaded lower layer of tropical forests, so they need filtered light. Protect it categorically from direct, scorching sunlight, which can quickly burn its delicate leaves, fade their colour, and make them dry. An east-, west-, or bright north-facing windowsill will be perfect.

• 💧 Watering: Regular, moderate, and extremely particular! Marantas like consistent, light moisture in the soil, but they do not tolerate waterlogged roots. Water the plant generously as soon as the top layer of soil (the upper 1–2 cm of the pot) has dried slightly. The soil should be pleasantly moist, like a wrung-out sponge, but never wet. GOLDEN RULE: marantas, like their calathea relatives, are extremely sensitive to chlorine and fluoride in tap water (this causes the leaf tips to turn brown). For watering, you MUST use only settled, filtered, rain, or distilled water!

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A warmth-loving tropical inhabitant (ideally +18°C to +25°C). This plant loves increased humidity, so it will be most grateful for placement near a humidifier or regular humidification (but do not spray large water droplets directly onto the leaves). In winter, strictly protect it from the dry, hot air from heating radiators, temperatures dropping below +15°C, and icy drafts!

⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about marantas: Plants are living organisms, so every specimen and its precise silver vein pattern are completely unique natural masterpieces. An important dose of reality: marantas naturally prefer to grow wider and slightly downward (trailing), rather than stretching upwards. Small brown leaf tips are completely normal in drier indoor air. When you repot it in the future, you MUST use a special, very light, peat-based, airy, and highly well-draining maranta/houseplant soil mix (with a generous addition of perlite and pine bark) to ensure free air circulation around the roots.
