Chinese Dwarf Banana or Golden Lotus (Musella lasiocarpa)

This extremely unusual and exotic Chinese dwarf banana, most commonly known worldwide as the "Golden Lotus," is truly a unique houseplant and a collector's pride. It stands out with a compact, sturdy trunk and beautiful bluish-green leaves. The greatest treasure of this plant is its impressive, bright yellow flower, which resembles a huge, waxy lotus and can bloom for several months (but note that the plant only reaches this flowering maturity after several years!). It is a bold and massive interior accent that brings a breath of Asian tropics into your home. A great, very exclusive, and long-lasting gift for rarity collectors and nature lovers!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright light and direct sunlight. For the plant to develop successfully, stay healthy, and be able to bloom in the future, it needs as much light as possible. A south or southwest-facing windowsill is an absolutely ideal choice. In summer, it is safe and even recommended to take it outside into the sun.

• 💧 Watering: Abundant during the active growth period (spring and summer). Keep the soil evenly moist, but definitely avoid excess water accumulation at the bottom of the pot or tray, as this will quickly rot the roots. In autumn and the winter dormancy period, watering should be significantly reduced, allowing the top layer of soil to dry well.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Loves warmth during the active season, but this is one of the most cold-tolerant banana species (can withstand even short and light frosts if planted outdoors). When overwintering indoors, it is best placed in a cooler (but bright) spot (around 10–15°C). It will appreciate increased air humidity and regular misting in dry indoor air.

• 🐾 Pets: Friendly. This exotic plant is non-toxic and completely safe to have in your home with cats and dogs.

🏠 MOST SUITABLE ROOM:

• Sunny living room (as an absolute central accent of the room, especially close to large, sunny windows).

• Glazed terrace or conservatory (where the plant will receive maximum light and feel like in its natural environment).

• Yard or balcony in summer (during the warm months it will thrive outdoors, giving the garden a true tropical atmosphere).
