CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright, abundant, and maximally sunny conditions! This is the main secret behind this plant's massive trunk (caudex) and dense foliage: the nolina is a true child of the sun and desert. To help it develop a large, expressive trunk base and prevent its leaves from becoming long and fragile, place it in the brightest spot in the room (it will love and needs direct sunlight). A south-, east-, or west-facing windowsill will be the perfect choice!

• 💧 Watering: Extremely rare, minimal, and carefully considered - this plant is a succulent! Its massive, bulbous trunk serves as a huge water reservoir, so the plant absolutely cannot tolerate constantly wet conditions. Water thoroughly, but ONLY when the soil in the pot has completely, 100% dried out all the way to the bottom of the pot between waterings! The plant categorically cannot tolerate its roots or the base of its trunk soaking in standing water in the saucer, which can quickly cause irreversible rot. During the winter months, stop watering almost completely. If in doubt - do not water!

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Feels excellent and comfortable in warm conditions and heat (+18°C to +28°C and above). This plant tolerates dry indoor air completely without problems, including the heat of the heating season, and does not require any misting or additional humidification. Protect it from temperatures below +10°C and icy drafts in winter.

• 🐾 Pets: Pet-friendly / Non-toxic. Nolinas are completely non-toxic. However, there is one BIG "but" - cats literally adore the nolina's delicate, rustling leaves and often chew them beyond recognition, turning the plant into their personal toy. If you have a cat at home, place the nolina somewhere out of reach for the sake of the plant's appearance, not its safety!

⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about nolinas: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and its exact trunk thickness, bark cracking, and leaf-cascade shape are completely unique works of nature - there are no two identical plants in the world. Botanical fact: Nolinas are extremely, extremely slow-growing. They will retain their compact size and silhouette for many years, making them an excellent, enduring design element. If the very tips of the leaves become dry and brown, this is normal, and they can safely be trimmed with scissors without touching the green part of the leaf. When you repot it in the future, you MUST use a special, mineralized, sandy, and highly porous cactus/succulent soil mix (generously containing gravel, pumice, and perlite), because heavy, dense houseplant soil will kill it.
