CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Exceptionally generous, bright, and maximally sunny environment! Here lies the main secret of this plant’s massive trunk and magnificent leaf crown: Pachypodium lameri is an absolute sun lover. To grow a thick, firm trunk and a dense green crown at the top, place it in the brightest spot in the room (it will love and need direct sunlight). If the light is insufficient, the trunk will become thin, weak, and the plant will start yellowing its leaves. A south or west-facing windowsill and a spot right by the window are the perfect choices!

• 💧 Watering: Extremely moderate, infrequent, and very careful. Since the pachypodium’s silvery trunk acts as a strong water reservoir, the plant cannot tolerate living in constant swampy conditions. Water the plant generously, but only when the soil in the pot is completely, 100% dry down to the very bottom between waterings! Because the plant is in a large 14 cm pot, it retains moisture longer, so the plant absolutely cannot tolerate root rot caused by standing water in the saucer – this can quickly cause rot at the base of the trunk and roots. During winter months (the plant’s resting period), reduce watering to an absolute minimum (once a month is sufficient). If in doubt – never water!

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives comfortably in warmth and pronounced dryness (+20°C to +28°C). This succulent tolerates dry indoor air without any problems, heating season heat, and does not require misting or additional humidity. On the contrary – high humidity can harm it. Important rule: pachypodium is a true heat lover – protect it from temperatures dropping below +13°C and from icy drafts in winter (during window ventilation)!

• 🐾 Keep away from pets: The pachypodium’s trunk is covered with sharp spines, and its sap can cause irritation. Place this magnificent, sculptural design plant in a safe spot away from children and four-legged friends.

Important natural secret: in autumn and winter, as daylight hours and temperature decrease, the pachypodium may naturally yellow and shed some of its lower leaves – don’t panic, this is a normal entry into winter dormancy! During this time, water very sparingly, keep it warm, and in spring, with the return of the sun, a new, lush, and shiny leaf crown will quickly sprout at the top of the trunk. Since this is already an excellently grown specimen in a generous 14 cm pot, it will not require repotting for a very long time. When you do repot it in the future, be sure to use a special, mineralized, sandy, and highly porous cactus/succulent soil mix (rich in gravel, pumice, and perlite) to ensure excess water drains immediately through the pot.
