Royal Neon Philodendron 'Orange Marmalade' (Philodendron 'Orange Marmalade')
Get ready to bring true tropical sunrise energy, warmth, and absolute botanical luxury to your collection – Philodendron 'Orange Marmalade'! This outstanding and highly prized hybrid among collectors is a true masterpiece of nature, literally enchanting with its captivating color transformation. Its greatest pride and fame lie in the flawless leaf coloration, which resembles sweet, sunny orange marmalade: each new leaf unfolds in a completely magical, vividly bright neon orange or yellowish tone. As the leaf matures, it transforms into a juicy green while retaining its unique, silvery yellow and marble-like variegation (variegation). Additional contrast to this fiery show is provided by bright, dark red or burgundy leaf stems, perfectly highlighting the elegant spear-shaped silhouette of each leaf. This variety naturally forms a very compact, dense, and self-supporting shrub, making it a perfect and eye-catching elite interior piece. Currently, it is a nicely grown, distinctly strong, large, and stable 20-25 cm plant in a generous 12 cm pot. It is an air-purifying houseplant that will add an elite-class, modern, and lively tropical accent to any interior. It is a prestigious, breathtaking gift for passionate collectors and those who want to see the brightest colors of nature in their homes!
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: Bright but MANDATORILY diffused light. Here lies the main secret of this plant’s fiery glow: since the bright orange and yellow zones of the leaves contain little chlorophyll, the plant vitally needs a large amount of light (it will especially enjoy gentle morning or late evening sun rays) to maintain the expressive, contrasting marmalade pattern and prevent new leaves from simply unfolding green. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly and irreversibly burn its delicate leaves. An east or west-facing windowsill is a perfect choice.
-
💧 Watering: Moderate and very thoughtful. Philodendrons do not tolerate overly frequent watering and root soaking. Water only when the topsoil and the middle layer (upper third of the pot) have completely dried out between waterings! Since the plant is in a stable 12 cm pot, it will retain moisture a bit longer, so the plant absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will quickly cause root rot. If in doubt – feel free to wait a few more days.
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A warmth-loving tropical resident (ideally +18°C to +25°C), which, thanks to its thick leaves, adapts relatively well to normal indoor light. Of course, it will be very happy with moderate to high air humidity (above 50-60%), which will help the new, grand leaves open even more easily without cracking and protect the bright leaf edges from premature drying. It will appreciate a spot near a humidifier. In winter, strictly protect it from cold drafts!
-
🐾 Pets: Keep away from pets. Like all philodendrons, 'Orange Marmalade' contains calcium oxalate crystals, which are toxic to cats and dogs if chewed. Place this gorgeous plant out of reach of your four-legged friends.
🏠 MOST SUITABLE LOCATION:

⚠️ Note and reality check: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and the exact intensity density of its neon color may vary slightly (some leaves may unfold fiery orange, others more yellowish or variegated, which is a natural and excitingly unpredictable trait of variegated plants). Since this is already a nicely grown plant with a strong root system, it will develop at a pleasant, stable pace. Although it is a shrubby philodendron, in the future, when the plant becomes larger and heavier, it will greatly appreciate a decorative moss or coconut fiber support to prop up its stem. When repotting in the future, be sure to use an extremely airy, porous, and loose aroid soil mix (generously mixed with perlite, coconut chips, and fine orchid bark) so the roots can breathe freely and excess water drains instantly through the pot.
