CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Maximum bright light and direct sunlight! To grow strong, maintain its bright green color and prevent the leaves from becoming spindly, this palm vitally needs plenty of sunlight. A south-, southeast- or southwest-facing windowsill is an absolutely ideal choice.

• 💧 Watering: Thorough but moderate. The palm likes a good drink, but then needs a rest. Allow the top layer of soil (approximately 3–5 cm deep) to dry out completely between waterings. It absolutely cannot tolerate its roots soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will very quickly cause root rot and browning leaves! Reduce watering considerably in winter.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Loves warmth and fresh air! During the warm spring and summer months, this palm should definitely be taken outdoors into the fresh air on a sunny terrace or balcony (initially acclimatize it to direct sunlight gradually to avoid scorching the leaves). In winter (during its dormant period), it will feel perfectly comfortable in a cooler, very bright room (ideally around 10–15°C). It tolerates ordinary room air well, but protect it from hot, dry air from radiators in winter.

• 🐾 Pets: Pet-friendly, but with one “but”! The palm’s leaves themselves are not toxic to pets, but an important warning: as the plant grows, sharp, long spines develop at the base of the leaves, close to the trunk. Although this plant is still relatively small, be careful and protect your pets’ eyes and snouts!

🏠 MOST SUITABLE SPACE:

• A bright and sunny terrace or balcony in summer (absolutely the best place for this plant during the active season).

• A bright living room with a south-facing window (as a highly noticeable tropical accent in the room).

• A bright conservatory or glazed loggia (an excellent place for overwintering).

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and the fullness of its crown may vary. It is important to know the secrets of nature when it comes to palms: this is a young plant, so it has not yet developed the classic, thick palm trunk (it will slowly form over the years)! In nature, palms grow upward, and their lower (older) leaves naturally turn brown, dry out and fall off – this is a normal part of trunk formation, not a disease. You may carefully cut off the dried lower leaves, but it is strictly forbidden to trim the palm’s crown, as this is where the plant’s only growing point is located! Palms have long and strong taproots, so when it is time to repot it, be sure to choose a deep rather than wide pot, and use heavier but well-draining palm soil (mixed with sand or perlite).
