CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Maximum bright light and direct sunlight! For plumeria to produce flower buds and reveal its mysterious color, it vitally needs an extremely large amount of sunlight (at least 6–8 hours of direct sun per day). A south- or southwest-facing windowsill or a sunny conservatory will be absolutely ideal and virtually the only correct choice.

• 💧 Watering: Very different depending on the season! In summer (during active growth), water generously, but be sure to let the top layer of soil dry out completely between waterings. It categorically cannot tolerate its roots soaking in standing water in the saucer! In winter, however, watering should be reduced to an absolute minimum (only slightly moistening the soil so that the trunk does not begin to shrivel).

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: It loves heat and literally adores warm, sunny summers. During the summer months, it is highly recommended to move it outdoors into the fresh air onto the sunniest terrace or balcony! In winter, protect it carefully from cold temperatures and open windows (the temperature must not fall below 12–15°C). Special misting is not necessary.

• 🐾 Pets: Not pet-friendly. The plant is toxic! Its trunk and leaves contain a white, milky sap (latex) that is irritating and poisonous. Contact with the skin may cause an allergic reaction, while chewing it can cause severe digestive problems and vomiting. Keep it completely out of reach of pets and small children!

🏠 IDEAL LOCATION:

• The brightest and sunniest south-facing windowsill in the home (an absolute prerequisite for this plant to bloom).

• A bright and hot conservatory (where it can enjoy near-tropical conditions).

• A sunny terrace in summer (where the plant can build up energy for flowering).

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen may vary slightly. The most important natural secret you need to know about plumeria: it is a deciduous plant! As winter approaches, the days become shorter, and light levels decrease, the plumeria will turn yellow and shed all of its leaves, remaining as nothing more than a “bare tree”—do not panic, the plant has not died! It is simply entering its natural winter dormancy (rest period). During this time, place it in a cooler location and practically do not water it. In spring, as the sun awakens, beautiful green leaves and flower buds will once again appear at the top of the trunk. Always wear gloves when pruning or repotting the plant to prevent the toxic white sap from getting onto your skin or into your eyes! When repotting, be sure to use extremely airy, loose soil (a mixture of cactus/succulent soil and perlite works perfectly).
