Royal Sunny Pomegranate (Punica granatum)
Get ready to bring the atmosphere, vitality, and noblest exoticism of a true Mediterranean and Ancient Greek legend into your home, veranda, or sunny windowsill with the stunning Pomegranate Tree (Punica granatum)! This historic natural treasure, highly prized among plant enthusiasts, is a true symbol of happiness, wealth, and fertility. The plant’s greatest pride and unique signature feature is its breathtaking, delicate tree architecture: from the base grows a strong, woody trunk with delicate branches covered by a dense crown of glossy green, waxy leaves. During the spring and summer months, the tree enchants with fiery pink, coral-toned flowers that later develop into charming miniature pomegranate fruits. This plant is also an excellent choice for bonsai enthusiasts, as it naturally forms a majestic miniature-tree silhouette. It is currently a beautifully grown, strong, exceptionally dense, and stable 20 cm specimen in a generous, highly stable 14 cm pot. This is the most prestigious, tasteful, and guaranteed-to-delight gift for bringing blessings into the home, for garden enthusiasts, bonsai lovers, and anyone seeking the highest level of tropical coziness in their interior!
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
-
☀️ Light: An exceptionally generous, bright, and maximally sunny environment! This is the main secret to this plant’s flowering and juicy fruits: Punica granatum is an absolute child of the sun. To help the tree maintain denser foliage, produce magnificent flowers, and ripen fruit, place it in the brightest spot in the room (it will love and needs direct sunlight). A south- or west-facing windowsill, or a sunny balcony or terrace during the warm season, will be the perfect choice!
-
💧 Watering: Regular, moderate, and well-considered. During the growing and flowering season, the pomegranate enjoys consistently light moisture, but it does not tolerate having its roots sit in stagnant water. Water the plant generously, but only when the top layer of soil (the upper 1–2 cm of the pot) has dried out between waterings. The soil in the pot should be pleasantly moist, like a wrung-out sponge. Since the specimen is in a large-volume 14 cm pot, it will retain moisture well, but the plant categorically cannot tolerate its roots sitting in stagnant water in the saucer, which can quickly cause leaf drop and root rot. Reduce watering in winter.
-
🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A heat-loving resident in spring and summer (+20°C to +26°C). An important pomegranate secret: since this is a subtropical tree, during the winter months (its dormant period) it will do best in a cooler but bright room (+5°C to +12°C), where it can rest a little. Do not worry if the tree sheds some leaves in autumn or during a cool winter—it will flourish again rapidly in spring! In winter, protect it from the dry heat of radiators and sharp drafts.
-
🐾 Pets: Pet-friendly / Safe. Pomegranate is not toxic to pets, but because of its delicate branches, it is still recommended to place it somewhere more difficult for cats and dogs to reach.
🏠 BEST LOCATION:

Sunny south- or west-facing windowsills, sunny verandas, and conservatories, as well as outdoors during the warm season on a terrace or balcony, where it will receive maximum sunlight.
-
Bright living rooms and desks, where this miniature-tree silhouette will bring a warm Mediterranean atmosphere and serve as the main design accent.
SPECIFICATIONS:

⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about pomegranates: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen and its exact branching, leaf density, or the number of flowers and fruits present at a particular moment may vary slightly, creating a unique natural form. Important tip: pomegranates respond very well to pruning—in spring, you can gently shorten the branches to give the tree an even denser and more compact crown. Since this is already an exceptionally mature specimen in a generous 14 cm pot, it will not require immediate repotting. When you repot it in the future, use a fertile, light, and well-draining houseplant or bonsai soil mix with a generous addition of perlite or sand.
