CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but ABSOLUTELY indirect light. This is the secret behind this plant's juicy segments: this is a jungle cactus that naturally grows on tree branches beneath the canopy. Strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sunlight, which can quickly burn the leaf segments, turning them red, purple, or pale yellow. An east- or west-facing windowsill will be perfect.

• 💧 Watering: Regular but careful! Remember that this is a tropical plant, not a desert cactus. Water the plant generously, but ONLY when the top third of the soil has completely dried out. During flowering and bud formation, do not allow the soil to dry out completely for an extended period (otherwise the buds will wilt), but it absolutely cannot tolerate its roots soaking in standing water in the saucer. Always drain away excess water.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: It feels excellent and comfortable at normal room temperature (+18°C to +22°C) and appreciates moderate humidity. The golden secret to flowering: for the Schlumbergera to bloom magnificently every year, it needs a pronounced rest period in autumn (September/October) - place it in a cooler room (+12°C to +15°C) and provide shorter daylight hours (it must be in complete darkness for at least 12-14 hours a day, so it should not be kept in a room where artificial lighting remains on late in the evening).

⚠️ Note and a dose of reality about Schlumbergeras: Plants are living organisms, and Christmas cacti have one particularly strong personality quirk - bud drop. As soon as your plant has formed small flower buds, it is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to turn it toward the light, move it to another room, or expose it to drafts. If you change the angle of the light by even 90 degrees, the plant may literally shed all its developing flowers within a day as a result of stress. Leave it exactly where it is until flowering is completely over! When you repot it in the future, after flowering, you MUST use a special, light, and highly porous epiphyte or cactus/succulent potting mix (generously mixed with perlite or fine pine bark), because its delicate roots will quickly rot in ordinary, dense peat.
