Unlike the classic striped Tradescantia, the 'Purpusii' variety stands out with much deeper, darker, and more intense purple, burgundy, and even bronze tones, while its silvery stripes are less pronounced, creating a very rich and dramatic visual effect. CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Maximum bright light and even direct sunlight! Here lies the main secret to this plant's beauty: for the Tradescantia to maintain its rich purple and burgundy coloring, it vitally needs plenty of light. If there is too little light, the leaves will become dull and greenish, and the shoots will become unattractively leggy. A south-, east-, or west-facing windowsill is an absolutely ideal choice.

• 💧 Watering: Moderate and careful. Tradescantia prefers evenly and lightly moist soil during active growth, but its fleshy stems allow it to tolerate short periods of drought very well. Let the top layer of soil dry slightly between waterings. It categorically cannot tolerate its roots soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will very quickly cause stem and root rot!

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: It thrives at standard room temperature and adapts easily to ordinary, dry indoor air (misting is not necessary). During the warm summer months, this plant can and should be taken outdoors into the fresh air on a sunny terrace or balcony, where the sunlight will give it its deepest, darkest coloring!

• 🐾 Pets: Not pet-friendly. The plant's sap contains substances that can cause skin and oral irritation, redness, and digestive problems in cats and dogs. Keep it out of your pets' reach!

🏠 MOST SUITABLE LOCATION:

• A high shelf or hanging pot (allowing the plant's colorful shoots to trail down elegantly).

• A bright, sunny windowsill in the living room (an absolute prerequisite for ideal purple coloring).

• A sunny balcony or terrace in summer (where it can grow as a magnificent trailing accent).

It is important to know nature's secrets: Tradescantia stems are exceptionally fragile and tend to break easily (especially when repotting or moving the plant) – handle it gently! If a branch breaks or the plant becomes "bare" at the base over time, don't be afraid to prune it boldly! Pruning will encourage the plant to become bushier, while the cut stems can simply be pushed back into the moist soil in the same pot or placed in a glass of water – they will root literally within a couple of days, allowing you to renew your plant endlessly. When repotting, use standard, airy houseplant soil with good drainage.
