This extremely charming and collector-favorite Wax Flower 'DS-70' is a true find for every houseplant lover! It stands out with its small, velvety (slightly fuzzy) and thick leaves, which in bright light often develop a beautiful reddish or bronze edge. But its true pride and greatest magic lie in its flowers – under the right conditions, this hoya produces stunning clusters of reddish-pink flowers with yellow centers that emit a fantastic and very tempting caramel or butter caramel scent! It is a compact, patient, and trailing houseplant that will add a cozy, warm, and exotic natural accent to any interior. It is an ideal, completely safe, and very valuable gift for both experienced plant lovers and fans of flowering vines!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but diffused light. For the hoya to bloom abundantly and for its velvety leaves to develop the beautiful reddish edge, it needs a lot of light. It can survive in partial shade, but growth will slow down and the plant most likely will not flower. Protect it from very harsh midday sun rays, which can burn the leaves and turn them yellow.

• 💧 Watering: Infrequent and very careful. Hoya leaves are thick and fleshy (they store water like succulents), so they tolerate drying out much better than overwatering! Allow the soil to almost completely dry out between watering. It absolutely cannot tolerate root soaking in standing water in the saucer, which will quickly cause root rot and plant death.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives well at standard room temperature and adapts fairly well to normal indoor air. This tropical plant will not mind slightly increased humidity, but its velvety leaves should not be excessively misted, as moisture accumulation on the hairs can cause rot or fungal diseases. Strictly protect from cold drafts!

• 🐾 Pets: Pet-friendly. This beautiful and fragrant vine is non-toxic and completely safe in your home with curious cats and dogs.

🏠 BEST LOCATION:

• Bright hanging pot or tall shelf (allowing its velvety tendrils to elegantly and freely hang down).

• Bright windowsill in the living room (where you can enjoy its wonderful caramel aroma during flowering).

• Bedroom (as a safe and aesthetically gentle interior addition).

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen may vary slightly. Please note: the first image shows an example of this variety’s flower to give you an idea of its stunning flowering potential and splendor! Important to know about hoyas: they tend to suddenly produce long, "bare" tendrils without leaves. Do not cut these under any circumstances! Over time, new leaves and flower clusters will grow on these tendrils. Also remember – when the hoya has finished flowering, do not cut the old flower stalk, because next year’s new flowers will form from the same stalk! When repotting, be sure to use very airy and loose soil (soil richly mixed with orchid bark and perlite works great) so the epiphytic roots can breathe freely.
